THE VOICE OF YOUTH FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

The Deal with it! Youth Conference in Vienna, Austria on 25th June 2022.

THE EXHIBITION

We are living in a time of multiple crises: We are living in a time of multiple crises: political, social, and environmental. The young generations might rightfully feel insecure: their future is at stake. They need to act very early on, start speaking to each other and to decision makers before it is too late. Their voice must be echoed and heard. This exhibition is theirs, so they can start conversations through limits and borders to construct their own future. This is the first step, when individuals become powerful groups, that can demonstrate their will. Change starts with them.

Social justice

With every step we take, with every decision we make we take up space, we leave a trace. A trace on others, a trace on our skin, a trace on the outside, and a trace within.

Sustainable mobility

On this globe, a train runs representing efforts to go green, but if you look closely through the magnifying glass you can still see the garbage bags piled up in the backyards, hidden from the public eye.

III. OUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE

Students present the Youth Declaration at the Public Summit in Brno on 14th October 2022.

Sustainability through social justice:
Establish a fair distribution of resources, rights and possibilities!

We envision a world with the goal of equal distribution of resources, rights and possibilities for all regions and people, so that everyone can lead a healthy, safe and prosperous life.

Sustainability in mobility: Incentivize more sustainable forms of mobility!

We envision an eco-friendly mobility system that is affordable, safe and accessible for all connecting people and regions, a transport system centred on pedestrians, bikes and reliable as well as sustainable public transportation, and a society where individual usage of cars is a rarity.

Sustainability in economy: Make humane, balanced, conscious changes in the economic system

We envision a globally fair, transparent and regulated economic system which allows all members of society to earn a living in order to meet essential needs and live a healthy life, in which sustainability is more than a marketing term and corruption is properly dealt with.

Sustainability in education: Re-invent the education system!

We envision a horizontal, fair and inclusive education system that provides young people the space and the resources to thrive towards responsible, competent and engaged global citizens, in which all young people find the space and the contents they need for a prosperous future individually and collectively; and a world where the teachers have better social positions, get the respect they deserve and get properly paid.

Transformation of policy making:
Establish better possibilities to participate and be more transparent!

We envision a political system built on trust, dialogue and inclusion that provides citizens the resources to participate in policy making, with accountable political institutions and politicians who recognize the necessity, the eligibility and the importance of fully informed and therefore responsible and critical citizens and the value of trust in societies.

In Artemisszió we believe in an open, tolerant society, where communication across social, cultural, demographic and geographical boundaries is a key value. This is why we invite young people to our activities: to share their ideas about a better future.  We use art and non-formal education to promote the importance of understanding the complexity of today’s globalized world – and through it, ourselves. NaZemi follows this vision through transformative education, focusing on global topics like climate change, decent work, or social justice.
